Joshua Nelson Leaders In Action was established in 2021 by Joshua Nelson. During his senior year in high school, Joshua received the Presidential Scholarship from Southeast Missouri State University. With the majority of his college expenses funded, Josh decided to take $1000 from his savings to create a scholarship fund for the St.Charles West High School Multicultural Achievement Council (MAC) Scholars, for which he was the inaugural President. The primary directive of the Joshua Nelson Leaders In Action Scholarship is to assist his peers/members of the MAC Scholars program, who are leading both in the classroom and the community, achieve their goal of acquiring higher education with as little debt as possible. This benevolent act attracted national attention and was featured on numerous news channels. With help from people all over the nation, the Joshua Nelson Leaders In Action Scholarship for the benefit of MAC Scholars has received overwhelming support. With this newfound platform, Joshua hopes to extend his scholarship outside of the St.Charles West Multicultural Achievement Council, and award over $10,000 annually in scholarships to deserving students who embody leadership.
